I've been neglecting Jeanne does stuff, but Jeanne has been doing stuff, just traveling!  For a look at where my focus has been, check out Heels First Travel, a blog dedicated to traveling fashionable and in first class.  :)

So, apparently I haven't posted much...

But that doesn't mean I haven't been knocking things off the list!

I have 791 days left. Oh geez, I need to get a move on my list. So much to do, so many places to see. I need to get plans in place. My problem is I've been doing really interesting things that knock ZERO items off my list :)

Stick to the list, or stick to interesting?

I have been to Busch Gardens, and parked in Germany...

Went around Colonial Williamsburg and toured the different wonderful historic buildings. LOVE Colonial Paint Colors. I went with my parents to Mount Vernon and got a taste of the same thing. Wonderful.

I even saw a fake British takeover of the city acted out. Fantastic!

I visited Smithsonians with Ross, Cliff and Cassy. So far I have hit up the National Zoo (twice now, actually), The American History Museum, The Natural History Museum, The National Portrait Gallery and the National Air and Space Museum. Halfway there for this goal!

I went to a Kurt Hasley exhibit in Philadelphia, and managed to turn that into a trip seeing Lene and AJ, my old roommates. I picked up some prints to display at home, and will just keep those as my souvenier pictures.

I did one solo hike, bringing my total to three. I also participated in the National Kidney Foundation Walk, and raised $250 in donations. Not too shabby, but I will make an unoffical goal next year to get a whole team of people together. If anyone is willing to walk with me, please post!

I toured a chocolate factory out in PA, ate lots of chocolate, and now... still want more chocolate.

I have been working on my Mario Kart skills. I have first place in FOUR cups, four to go. Thanks to my mom for actually purchasing the game for me to make it easier for me to fulfil this goal!

I've learned swing, lindy, and charleston so far, but I counted the first two as "one" dance, since there's controversy over whether swing/lindy is one or two... so I'll just sidestep that debate and say I'm either still getting 10 or going for one extra ;)

I have already seen MORE THAN FIVE movies in the theater, and given I rarely see two in a year, that is darn impressive. I really liked them too; some of them are among my favorite movies now. (500) days of summer, and Up were fantastic. I have seen Up three times already, and it has not gotten old.

I have switched from Blockbuster to Netflix, which has helped me in watching movies. About half the ones in my queue are on demand. I have added to my queue tremendously, but I will keep to my original goals on the list. I am not counting TV shows for it, so the 4 seasons of Coupling I watched (twice) do nothing to advance it!

I finally made my dad his 8 mix CDs, and he is very, very happy about this. I've only been promising them for... two years maybe?

And my momma and I toured Las Vegas. Cocktails in the pool in the early afternoon... Penny Poker all evening, and nights at the shows. We found out the halfpriced ticketbooth also did half price food reservations. We went to Mario Batali's restaurant using this, had dinner, dessert and drinks with a bill of less than $80. Holy Cow. We also saw Mystere (a Cirq.), Ice: Direct from Russia, and the Price is Right Show (where I won a prize!!!)

My apartment indeed is livable now, my wardrobe is built and in use, but I'm also constantly rethinking how I did things -- Should I change out the shoe shelves for shoe drawers? I could fit more with less upkeep... hmmm... I also got a kick arse table for my apartment that folds up all tiny.

I went to Dino's during restaurant week, which was FANTASTIC, and I highly recommend. They have weekday early bird specials, as well as no cork fees for bringing in your own bottle of wine Mon-Wednesday. I think I may be returning!

I also need to figure out the name of the Irish Pub Vinnie and I randomly found. It was somewhere off I-66 and fantastic... but the name eludes me. Vinnie and Katie were asking about it yesterday (which reminded me to update...) so I need to search it out.

Oh! And I didn't realize it till this second, but thanks to Ross, I have completed seeing NY from a stereotypical high place. Top of the rock! I also went to the top of the fake effile tower with my mom, but I think this counts more. And THEN I saw DC from the top of the Washington Monument with my brother, Keith, so not only did I do this item, I demolished it.

I am getting a deep tissue massage soon, which I really need given how much work I have been doing on the computer. My work stance is a lot more bent over than my "casual stance", I guess because I get a bit more intense when doing work-work. I get really sucked in and hyper focused, which is GOOD, but makes my back hurt somethin' awful.

I'm slacking, because I have only tried the Red Velvet cupcake from Georgetown cupcake since my last venture. (I retried the peanut butter twice... oops)

That's it for now. I need to work on my road trips and hiking. I'm joining a hiking group which should help kick me into gear, but that route 66 road trip and seeing the Pacific Ocean is looming over me...

Gosh, where do I begin?

I'm just knocking things off this list left and right!

So let me start with the most fun. A few weeks ago I toured rural America with my friend Vinnie. I think I pointed out every single cow to him, but lluckily, he's a New Yorker too and there is some hope that a cow is still a novelty to him as well.

Anyway, we drove around trying to find the most shady place ever to eat. When we found Rudy's bait shop, welding, and food... we thought twice of that idea, and decided to go for more of a dive bar.

We finally found one, and believe it or not, but in addition to having great hot wings and burgers, they had Asian cuisine on their menu. Wow.

I managed to find a Hoffmaster road picture on that journey -- but no Hoffman. Close, no cigar.

On that trip, we did a hike, and just finished up the Billy Goat Trail this past weekend. Half-bouldering and some free climbing always makes for a great day, and I was shocked that I wasn't sore afterwards.

I attempted to try new cupcakes, but found myself ordering the peanut butter core again. Darn it! I did manage to get a third cupcake even still -- the Red Velvet one.

I went to all three concerts in a week -- so unlike me. I went to Hippie Fest, where I got to see the Turtles and Bad Finger (and many others), Great Big Sea, and the Black Crowes. I also managed to go to an additional concert, and saw Blink 182 (and made shrinky dinks too!)

I also went to Williamsburg and stopped at Busch Gardens, which was fortunate because they are closing my favorite ride after this season! Yes, that's right. After this year, The Big Bad Wolf will be no more. I almost started crying in the theme park, which was a bit ridiculous of me. I just have so many memories with that, especially with my dad--him poofing my hair up to help me hit the height requirement, us howling at the top, so I didn't want it to close one bit!

I finished my evil wardrobe, and am a lot more organized now. Just one step closer to making my apartment "liveable" (though the maid service I got for today should help just in time for my parents' visit here)

I have the kidney foundation walk in a few weeks, and am excited about it. Update y'all later!

The Kindey Foundation Walk

I have other things to blog about, but I wanted to post about the Kidney Foundation Walk I am going to participate in this October. (45 days!)

Some of you may know this is an important issue to me, so I have been very excited for this. If you have considered buying me a drink at any point, I suggest you save my liver, along with mine and other people's kidneys, and put that five dollars (or ten if you are in NYC or DC :P ) towards this cause. Any amount helps!

- Chronic kidney disease is a public health problem affecting 26 million Americans
- Risk factors include diabetes, high blood pressure and family history
- One in nine American adults have kidney disease and most don’t know it (and miss the opportunity to take early action)
- 92,000 people are waiting for organ transplants
- 17 people die each day waiting for an organ transplant

This is my walkpage, where you can track my progress and donate.

Sweet Treats

Steve has been pretty upset about my frequency of posting. But in all honesty, I have been working very hard getting myself ready for #70: Show My Mom Around Vegas. We are leaving Tuesday for Nevada, and I can't wait.

Two weeks ago, I began the very difficult task of attacking number 96 on my list -- having every standard flavor of cupcake at Georgetown Cupcake. This is a very difficult task because the sheer deliciousness is overwhelming!

Let's see what I got.

Inside this box are Georgetown Cupcake's Peanutbutter Fudge Swirl, Chocolate^3, Mint Chocolate, and Coconut.

Unfortunately, they aren't all mine.

The Chocolate^3 and the Mint Chocolate shall have to wait another day to be ruthlessly consumed by me.

The Coconut Cupcake tasted what I would expect a vicious snowstorm to taste like --fluffy and delicious. As I bit into it, a storm of coconut flakes flew off it, into the air, and up-and-away.

The icing was delicious. I was expecting it to be dense, overly-sugared buttercream. Instead, it was lightly dolloped on top, and completely DRENCHED in coconut. (This is a huge plus with me). This storm inducing creation was wonderful -- the only thing it was lacking was a snowboard.

The Peanut Butter Swirl has a core of some sort of chocolate-peanut butter fantasy that I have only dreamed about. When I bit in to this equally light-icing-topped creation, the insides just oozed out. The inner child in me screamed with glee. It was basically an adult-version of a kids food that had the same permissions you get as a kid to be messy (...unless you have my parents, of course!)

And there you have it. Two cupcakes. Remember, I did this because I had to. It was on the list.

61. 1/5 Movies Seen in Theater

Now this one may not seem like a huge deal to people, but it is to me. I rarely see movies in the movie theater. It isn't that I don't like them -- it is just that with all the crazy amounts of activities I did while in school, I was never free on Friday and Saturday nights to go with my friends. Once college hit, not only was the theater pretty hard to get to (we couldn't have cars on campus), but I didn't even think of it as an option when hanging out with friends.

This has led to me having NO idea what people are talking about when making movie pop-culture references. This has led to people assuming I hate movies. Granted, I have a really hard time sitting through long ones (maybe I am just not used to it) but I have found I really love them. I just recently saw Pulp Fiction, and I thought it was superb. I also learned why people randomly say "Zed is Dead. Zed is Dead." This item, in conjunction with #63 (Watch all the movies on my blockbuster queue as of this moment) is my attempt at getting caught up and staying with it.

So my first foray into movies was the movie Up.

A grainy camera phone picture will have to suffice until I unpack my camera:

Up was fantastic, and I may or may not have cried at many points (i.e., the whole damn entire movie). I went with the brilliant Jeremy Lott (buy his book: The Warm Bucket Brigade, trust me) who is basically my evil twin when it comes to movies. While I rarely see movies in theater, he sees them each about ten times, personally funding the movie industry. At least I always know someone willing to see a movie.

I was not feeling well at all yesterday, but I really needed to get out of my apartment. So, I've been meaning to see Up, and was surprised it was still even out. I am not a movie reviewer, so I am not even going to try to do that (plus, I'm still stuck in the mode of discerning reality vs. fantasy with these new fangled movies), but I will comment a little. Up really made me think about this list and all I want to do in life. This list completely isn't my bucket list, because I can't put a time constraint on certain things I want to accomplish -- but things like Bora Bora (#1), I've always wanted to do. But if I accomplish other, more meaningful things in life, I will never care if I actually set foot in Bora Bora. I've spent enough time planning vacations I could never afford to go on in the past that I get joy out of doing simply that.

And the List LAUNCHES!

Welcome one and all to my crazy list of 101 things I want to do in the next 1001 days.

Now, let me first explain this is in no way a "bucket list". That list would be completely different, and a lot more meaningful. This is merely a list of things I have wanted to do, but put off every time something comes up in life. I hope having this list will push me to complete all of them, thus being one step closer to happiness and inner peace (next step: world peace!)

This list is inspired by my classmate from grammar school--Brian. He apparently got the idea from someone else named Erik, so check out both their blogs!

My friend Steve is doing this list as well. We both launch at midnight. I haven't seen Steve in ages, but maybe this list will help bridge the distance of our friendship. (Though, the internet has done a fine job of that already).

This post is mostly launch-house keeping, but I promise more interesting posts in the future... especially about which items seem the most difficult. Feel free to post questions in the comments, and I'll try to answer them when I talk more about the list and myself.

And with that, I rip off, without permission, Brian's set of rules:

"So this list is simple, 101 things I hope to accomplish over the next 1001 days (approx 2.75 years). The only rule is they must be done within the 1001 days. Therefore, if it is something I have already done, I need to do it again. "
